Wildlife Management

Bennett's timberlands are home to elk, deer, moose, bears, mountain lions, coyotes, turkeys, grouse, and a variety of other organisms.  Habitat for these species is often best maintained simply by managing for a healthy forest.

Occasionally wildlife habitat is lost when forested land is converted to other use.  Bennett timberlands are never converted to other uses.

Wildlife habitat can be enhanced though maintaining nesting sites and restricting vehicle access.  Most Bennett timberlands have vehicle restrictions to protect wildlife and water quality.  Nesting sites have been maintained by protecting snags, building ponds, and providing nesting boxes.
